Ok, I DID buy this sight unseen because it was only $3.98 and I was hoping to get “The Flim Flam Man”. Although the movies on this DVD still aren’t listed as of this writing, I can help there.
First, there are two movies only, originally there were supposed to be three. They are “Last Days of Patton” and “Jane Eyre”.
I already have “Last Days of Patton” which has been floating around in various discount bins. I like the movie. It picks up where “Patton” left off and tells the story of his work in Germany after the war, his accident and subsequent death. If you’re a Patton fan, it’s a good biography; there are also some flashbacks of George as a young officer and tank commander. The movie is a little long, but I happen to like that. George is way older and fatter than he was in “Patton”. But I enjoy the movie and I learned a lot of details I didn’t know before.
As far as Jane Eyre, I can’t say; I haven’t opened this yet, and may re-gift it. It was made for TV in 1970 (”Last Days of Patton” was made for TV in 1986). But I may get curious about the new remastering done for this DVD and see if picture quality has improved.
Personally I’m disappointed that I didn’t get “The Flim Flam Man” or some older film-noir, but at least now you know what’s here and can make your decision.

(update)
Well, I decided to watch Jane Eyre. I really enjoyed Susannah York’s performance, she was into it and was the real star. George must have been preoccupied with the results of the “Patton” auditions, because he didn’t really enjoy the role. His lines sounded stiff and stilted, phony accent, etc. I half expected him to pull up in his jeep and say “Jane, marry me or I’ll use your living guts to grease the treads of my tank”. This was a low budget, playhouse style production. But I enjoyed watching it, overall.
Transfer quality on both movies was poor, no improvement there. This set is not suitable for re-gifting, in my opinion. But c

I take my time before buying things and for a couple of years I had been joking about buying an XBox. When the time to buy came, I researched and decided on a Wii. It exceeded anything I could have expected. The two points which sold me are 1) you have to get up off the couch and get active to play and 2) the focus isn’t so much on violence, blood and killing. I’m a senior citizen and my daughter picked this up for me. We played it until our arms were numb and she is looking to get her own Wii so we can play on-line. I check the daily weather and news stories on my Wii and my friends and I will soon start a bowling league. For the price, you can’t beat this system. If I were paying 50 cents for every game I played, it would have paid for itself in a month or two. The software selection is great and the prices are reasonable. I rate the Wii right up there with the Internet and the ATM. Get yours and you’ll see.

Bought another brand of pedometer @ Dick’s; the best one they carried and it didn’t count steps accurately. Returned it for a replacement, same problem. Looked for reviews on line and found this one; both rated highly and very economical. It is definitely both. Have used the first one for about 4 monthes flawlessly and bought 2 others to give as gifts. It was easy buying this on Amazon, as well as the 2 we bought for gifts. If you want a good pedometer for under $50, this is my recomendation.

I picked up Twilight by Stephenie Meyer last year during one of Borders’ Buy 2 get 1 promotion (I know this because the sticker was still on the cover). At the time I knew nothing about the book but I was intrigued by the premise and so picked it up. Since that time this book has become a phenomenon among teens and adults alike (at this posting there were 4500+ copies cataloged on librarything). One of the main reviews on Amazon even calls Twilight “an exquisite fantasy.” On Librarything, Amazon and Barnes & Noble this book was predominately rated at 5 stars. So by the time I got around to reading to this book I was excited thinking that I had a real gem of a tale to sink into.
In fact, Twilight left me stunned…but not in a good way. Not in the “oh my this is one of the best books that I have ever read” sort of stunned. Instead all I kept thinking about was that the main character Bella, who is the narrator of the story, was obsessed. When Bella first moves to Forks, Washington and first encounters the eningmatic and overly beautiful boy Edward Cullen she is intially put off by him….mainly because he has such violent reactions of mood when he is near her. This dislike that Bella has for Edward only lasts a chapter or two before she is drawn to him. He is so handsome after all, how can she not fall for him? Even though initally he is very rude and mean to her. Yet still she yearns for Edward. Then, all too quickly, when Edward starts to loosen up and start to really charm Bella her yearning turns to a deep and all consuming obsession with him. So much so that it isn’t long before she wants to spend every waking moment with him…..and that anytime apart is pure agony.
Overall, this book scares me. This is a book that many young teen girls are picking up and devouring and thinking that its a true love story. That Bella and Edward are as star-crossed as Romeo and Juliet. That their relationship is something to look up to…..to emulate. When in fact its far from
