I purchased this because of the offer to update to Office 2010 for free when Office 2010 became available. NOT SO. The Office 2007 purchased from Amazon was some kind of ‘Singapore’ English version with a product ID ineligible for the Office 2010 update!!!! Big surprise last night when I tried to upgrade to Office 2010 from the upgrade link at the top of this Amazon item page.

Cables do what they are supposed to and are very cheap to boot. Same wires can cost 15x as much in retail stores. There was an issue with my delivery but the seller quickly resolved the issue. Speaks of their character. I would purchase from them again.
Mountain Bike Tube Q
I’ve been very pleased with this pedometer. I had a cheaper one and this one beats it hands down! This was recommended to me by a friend and she loves hers also. Was a little skeptical spending more $$ on this one, but it was well worth it. Love all the features! Clip doesn’t always stay on the greatest, but I use the safety strap w/it and haven’t dropped it yet – would probably have lost it though had I not used the strap. Good motivation! Seems to be very accurate (not perfect, but way better than I had before – almost right on the dot)! Ended up buying one for my daughter and mother too! (They love theirs too!)

I am a die hard bibliophile. I love the feel of a book in my hands. But living in a small apartment, space is at a premium, and my library would suffer otherwise if not for my Kindle. I have my shelves reserved for my “special” books. Everything else goes on my Kindle. The battery life is wonderful. It is easy on the eyes. It is the perfect size. It even plays my audible books. And I was able to load it up with books before it even arrived! I would definitely recommend it.

I remember reading “Catcher In The Rye” in a high school literature class. I was always awed by the story of Holden Caufield…literature’s most famous juvenile delinquent. And reading it is the only way you can appreciate the late JD Salinger’s work, since he NEVER will allow his books to be made into movies…even posthumously.

So I have finished reading Artemis Fowl and I am currently working on decoding he message at the bottom of the pages. The book itself is good. Eoin Colfer really takes an old subject like fairies and leprechauns and gives it a new twist. However the book is a little adolescent in it’s nature, I suspect Colfer is trying to copy the success Ms. Rowling has had with Harry Potter by appealing to young people without offending their parents. The plots are compelling and original but the action is subdued. Colfer makes fun of himself by playfully catching himself before any vulgarities are written, trying to give the piece and off the cuff feel. All this aside I must say that I do recommend this book not only to children middle school and younger but also to adults who are looking for a quick read that is also entertaining. While it’s not Shakespeare it is surprising the amount of emotional attachment that we feel towards the title character. Eoin gives us hints that Artemis has not yet revealed his true nature we shall see as Artemis grows up how he handles the responsibility of his knowledge of the People.

The Bible a Miracle
Those were the awards garnished on this movie. I’ve never seen one movie so pummelled as this one, and it darn sure didn’t, and doesn’t, deserve it. I was shocked when the reviews poured in, and most were mean-spirited. They couldn’t possibly be reviewing the movie I saw, could they?
Hey, I admit it, I’m a Kevin Costner fan. I’ve liked almost everything he’s been associated with. While “The Postman” is not a great movie (although it could have been), it is a good movie. The audience in the theater applauded loudly when the credits rolled up…and no, not because it mercifully ended;-). Note: I saw the movie before most of the negative reviews poured in (probably the first time in history that critics agreed with each other).
“The Postman”, loosely based on David Brin’s novel, is about a post-apocalyptic world struggling to survive. The scattered remnants of humanity have banded together in small towns and hamlets, and are isolated from each other and the rest of the world because a powerful rogue band of survivalists (known as Holnists) patrol and control the countryside. A lone scavenger (Costner), who by chance comes across a wrecked postal truck filled with 16 year-old mail, figures he can `glean’ food and favors from these villages by telling them that he is an official postman and that the United States government is being restored. For the first time in 16 years, people have been given hope, and what starts out as a simple con, soon grows out of proportion and is beyond his (or anyone’s) ability to control.
Although the movie is three hours long and has several embarrassing “Costner” moments (including a somewhat corny and anti-climactic ending), it was never boring. Although this movie won’t be to everyones’ liking, I found it very entertaining and David Brin’s premise original, if not down-right brilliant. Even with the problems stated above, I give “The Postman” 7 out of 10, and a word of caution: Don’t believe e

The monitor worked great in the bassinet but did not in the crib. I adjusted the sensitivity many times, got the plywood they suggested, even moved the whole monitor towards the side of the crib he always moved to. When my baby is asleep, he ends up moving to the side/corners of the crib and the monitor sometimes can’t pick him up. This worried me so much because it would look like his face is plastered against the crib bumper. I would get up constantly to move him back but he still would end up in the far corners. The monitor would start going off after a couple of hours of sleep when I think my baby is in deeper sleep. Jumping out of bed and waking up when you are already have to wake up later to feed made me that much more sleep deprived. It would go off about 3 or 4 times before 1am so I would then give up and turn it off. I still am keeping it to use for the next one in the bassinet since it worked there.
